If you thought portable gadgets such as cell phones and tablets could not make people any lazier, just wait. Wearable technology is a rising trend today, especially with Google’s much anticipated launch of Google Glass.

This device comes in the form of glasses that display data in the upper right of the user’s vision and recognizes the voice of the wearer to perform commands such as taking photos, finding directions, searching, and texting.

It surely saves a lot of work for the user’s hands and fingers, but reviewers and experimenters have found flaws in this piece of technology that they say may be the reasons why Google Glass may not be the next big revolution.

1. Google Glass has a poor battery life of just over three hours.

2. Google Glass gives headaches. The screen is way too up-close to your eyes and distracts you from focusing on other things.

3. The screen is hard to see in bright sunlight.

4. You cannot adjust settings, such as volume and display brightness.

5. The voice control is unreliable. The device can pick up sounds from other sources in the environment and translate the sounds into searches.

6. You still need a smartphone from which Google Glass can get data connection. This not only adds to your data plan costs, it also wears down your phone’s battery.

7. Google Glass looks cool but it does not fold up, making it difficult to take off the head and store.

8. The speech recognition system is not perfect; so the user must pronounce each word clearly and slowly.

3. 밝은 햇빛에서 화면을 보기가 어렵다.
4. 볼륨이나 화면밝기 등 세팅이 어렵다.
5. 목소리 인식기능이 약하다. 착용자의 목소리가 아닌 배경에 떠돌아 다니는 소리들을 인식한다.
6. 데이터 연결을 위해서는 스마트폰이 필요하다. 핸드폰 요금이 올라갈 뿐만 아니라 핸드폰의 바테리를 닳게 하기도 한다.
7. 구글 글래스가 외관적으로는 멋지지만 접히는 디자인을 갖고 있지 않아 벗고 보관하는 것이 까다롭다.
8. 목소리 인식기능이 약하기 때문에 착용자는 명령을 내릴 때 또박또박 천천히 얘기해야 한다.
