I bet most of you’ve heard about the Twilight series. Many people have been eagerly awaiting the third installment of the book-to-film phenomenon, which will debut next month. Yet if that wasn’t exciting enough here is something really special: the two leading characters, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, visited Korea! The Teen Times paid a visit to the press conference held at Dynasty Hall in Silla Hotel, Seoul on June 3.

The Twilight saga, which was originally released in book form consists of four parts; Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Down. To promote the release of the third movie the two Hollywood stars paid a special visit to Seoul. They were met by hearty cheers from the journalists who awaited them at the press conference, giving thoughtful answers to the barrage of questions that followed.

 

 

Both of them showed expectations and interests in Korean culture, despite being on a tight schedule. “I was really impressed by so many people welcoming us at the airport. I don’t know a lot about Korea but the ‘Bibimbab’ that I had on the airplane was so delicious, I want to try it once more before going back,” Lautner explained with regards to their first impressions of Korea.

When asked about the new film Lautner explained, “It is a story for everyone. It has action, romance, suspense, everything. I truly believe that the story is universal.” He added, “The pressure from the success of the two previous movies encouraged everyone on the set to work harder.”

The first two Twilight movies, released in 2009, hit record highs in the movie industry.

With the third installment it is the love triangle between Bella (Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Lautner) that will surely capture the imagination of many. These conflicting relationships are set to reach a peak in Eclipse, as Stewart explained; “Bella and Jacob kiss on top of a mountain, without knowing that Edward is watching them. It is the most memorable scene.”  The actress added that she felt the same way about love as her character does, and is reluctant to take the easy way with love and relationships.

After the first film in the series Lautner dropped many jaws by building an impressive muscle mass. The grueling training that followed was necessary in order to keep up with the physical changes that his character Jacob goes through in the story.

Naturally the star had to deal with a lot of questions regarding his physique. “It was a lot of work crammed into about a year. Right now I’m finding it is just as hard to maintain what I put on in the first place” he said. This constant struggle for physical perfection was aptly demonstrated by his request for a hotel with full gym facilities for the duration of their two day visit to Korea.

Eclipse is due to hit Korean theatres on July 8. The third installment of the Twilight saga is set to take you into a fantasy world of unparalleled potential, filled with dynamic, colorful images, and even more intense thrills. So if you get a chance to see Eclipse, don’t hesitate as it already looks set to be the hottest movie of the summer. ‘이클립스’ 주인공 스튜어트와 로트너 한국에 오다

‘트와일라잇’ 시리즈에 대해 들어보았을 것이다. 많은 이들이 다음달 출시될- 책에서 영화로 만들어진- 세 번째 영화를 간절히 기다려왔다. 그러나 그것이 충분히 흥미롭지 않았다면 여기에 정말 특별한 것이 있다: 두 주연 배우 크리스틴 스튜어트와 테일러 로트너가 방한했다. 틴타임즈는 6월 3일 서울의 신라호텔에서 열린 기자회견에 참석했다.

원래는 책으로 출판된 ‘트와일라잇’은 네 부분으로 구성된다; ‘트와일라잇’, ‘뉴문’, ‘이클립스’ 그리고 ‘브레이킹다운’이다. 세 번째 영화 출시를 홍보하기 위해 두 명의 할리우드 스타가 서울을 특별 방문했다. 그들은 기자회견을 위해 기다린 기자들에 의해 뜨거운 환호를 받았고, 이어진 질문공세에 사려 깊은 답변을 해주었다. 그 두 명의 스타는 타이트한 스케줄에도 불구하고 한국문화에 기대와 흥미를 보여주었다.

“공항에서 환영해주신 많은 분들에게 감명받았다. 한국에 대해 많이 모르지만 비행기에서 먹은 비빔밥은 정말 맛있어서 돌아가지 전에 한번 더 먹어 보고 싶다.”고 로트너는 한국에 대한 첫인상에 대해 설명했다. 새로운 영화에 대한 질문에 “그것은 모든 이들을 위한 영화이다. 액션, 로맨스, 서스펜스, 모든 것이 있다. 나는 정말 그 이야기는 보편적이라고 생각한다.”고 로트너는 말했다. 그는 “앞선 두 영화의 성공에 대한 압박이 모든 스태프들을 더 열심히 하도록 고무시켰다.”고 덧붙였다.

첫 번째 두 ‘트와일라잇’ 영화는 2009년에 개봉되어 영화 산업에 흥행을 기록했다. 세 번째 영화는 벨라(스튜어트), 에드워드(로버트 패틴슨) 그리고 제이콥(로트너)간의 삼각관계이고, 확실히 많은 이들의 상상력을 사로잡을 것이다. 이러한 충돌하는 (삼각)관계는 이클립스에서 스튜어트가 설명한 것과 같이 정점에 다다를 것이다; “벨라와 제이콥은 에드워드가 보고 있는 것도 모르고 산 꼭대기에서 키스한다. 그것이 가장 기억에 남는 장면이다.”

스튜어트는 사랑에 대해 극 중 캐릭터와 같은 생각이며, 사랑에 있어서 쉬운 길을 택하고 싶지는 않다고 덧붙였다. 첫 번째 영화 이후 로트너는 인상깊은 근육을 만들어 많은 이들을 놀라게 했다. 극 중 제이콥이라는 캐릭터가 겪은 신체적 변화를 따라가기 위해서 엄격한 훈련은 필요했다. 로트너는 그의 몸매에 관한 많은 질문에 답해야 했다. “일년을 꽉 채운 많은 양의 운동이었어요. 처음에 성취한 것(몸무게)을 유지하는 것이 얼마나 어려운 것인지 지금 알겠어요.” 그는 말했다.

완벽한 몸매를 유지하기 위한 끊임없는 노력은 이틀간이었던 한국방문 동안에 운동시설이 다 갖추어진 체육관 시설을 요구한 것만 보아도 잘 증명된다. ‘이클립스’는 7월 8일 한국에서 개봉될 예정이다. ‘트와일라잇’ 시리즈의 세 번째 영화는 역동성과, 화려한 이미지 그리고 좀더 강력한 스릴로 가득 찬 비할 데 없는 판타지의 세계로 당신을 데려갈 것이다. ‘이클립스’를 볼 기회가 있다면, 주저하지 마라. 그것은 이미 이번 여름 가장 인기 있는 영화로 자리매김한 것 같이 보인다. 결국, 크리스틴 스트유터와 테일러 로트너의 마음을 사로잡는 연기가 기다리고 있다!
