‘Cute’ and ‘catchy’. These were the first two words that hit me when I saw the music video for ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ by 16-year-old Canadian singer Justin Bieber. An incredible number of girls have a crush on him and with his cute looks it’s crystal clear why. But there’s more; his voice is mellow and his songs are quite catchy.

Bieber has released two official albums, My world in 2009 and the recent My World 2.0. Seven songs from the debut were listed on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart which has sold nearly 850,000 copies, while the single ‘Baby’ topped the charts shortly after the second album’s release. Undoubtedly Bieber has once again captured the hearts of girls in preteens as well as those in their 20s.
 
 Already Bieber has built the foundations for a brilliant career what with his first album being certified platinum in the U.S. which really impressed famed musician Usher. Bieber received an even greater accolade when he performed a Christmas song for the U.S. President and the first lady last year in Washington - quite an achievement for a middle-school student.

Back in April, Justin was scheduled to sing a couple of songs in Australia. Thousands of fans camped out overnight in the hope of seeing the teenage heart throb. As the time drew near for the show’s start and the number of people surged, things got ugly. Ultimately, police in Sydney had to cancel the event for safety reasons, as his fans began injuring each other.
 
Bieber seems dismissive of his fame, saying, “I feel like I just won the lotto.” Yet he undoubtedly has what it takes to be a professional singer. Just try typing his name in to a search engines and check out some of his video clips. You will then be certain as to why so many girls go wild for him. Sometime soon the Justin wave will sweep Asia and hopefully we’ll be seeing him on a stage here in Korea.
