On August 19, two teen reporters accompanied me to the film production briefing for the upcoming movie Grand Prix, which took place at the Megabox cinema in Dongdaemoon, Seoul. The movie was directed by Yang Yoon-ho, famous for directing the TV drama IRIS. Under the subheading, “You and me, for all our glorious moments,” the movie is about a horsewoman who gathers up her courage and runs once more for the Grand Prix after a terrible accident. Kim Tae-hee is the heroine of the movie, portraying the horsewoman, with Yang Dong-geun taking the supporting role as the person who gives her strength and courage to move on and win the Grand Prix.

Here is what the director and the actors had to say about the movie:

Yang Yoon-ho (DIRECTOR): “Until now, my movies were all macho and the characters were all men. However as I grew older I began to like family movies; the ones that are heartwarming and enjoyed by all ages. I had a wonderful time directing Grand Prix and I hope the audience feels the warmth of the movie as well as the pleasures of this sports film. “

Kim Tae-hee (Seo Ju-hee, main character): “This is the first time for me to take the leading role of a movie. At first I accepted the part of Ju-hee without hesitation, but as time passed I gradually began to feel the pressure of being the heroine of a movie. It meant that the movie’s success will be decided by my acting. Yet through this movie I feel that I have grown to become more sophisticated and independent in my acting. I hope the results turnout as well as I hope.”

Yang Dong-geun (Lee Woo-seok, Ju-hee’s supporter): “This movie has a lot of meaning for me. First of all, this is my comeback movie after serving my military service. Also the character of Lee Woo-seok was not mine to start with. It belonged to another actor, but due to army related problems I joined the cast at the last minute. This meant that I had to practice riding a horse, lose weight, and analyze the character all at once. I underwent a lot of changes and I hope the audience will discover this when watching the movie. “

The movie will be released on September 16. Let’s hope it wins the hearts of the audience and races itself up to the top of the charts. Now, let’s hear what the teen reporters had to say about their experiences.


Jung Seong-jun:
This was the first assignment I had been given since I became a Teen Reporter. I had a different feeling the moment I stepped in to the theater since I was there as a reporter and not merely as a guest. As soon as I stepped in, I could see the host and many other reporters. The host was a comedian named Hyun-Hee Hwang. There were a lot of people waiting to type, write and take pictures. They turned and looked at us, I guess because I am still a student and we were kind of special. Soon after a few reporters started to argue while trying to get a better position for taking pictures. It was scary yet surprising; I learned that it is very important to be the best in any job. It was a good experience and I hope to get another opportunity like this soon.

Kang Gun-hee:
The conference began with the entrance of the two main actors and the director. The story is about a woman jockey who lost both her horse and her hope at a race after an accident. Director Yang Yoon-ho showed great confidence in his new movie; although there have been movies before that handled the subject horse racing, Yang is sure that his movie will be able to deliver something different to the audience. Unlike the previous movie, Cube Sugar, this movie handled more than just the love between a person and a horse. Instead there will be real human romance and dynamic spectacles. Also because Kim Tae-hee is the main character, she has a greater importance in this movie. I hope to see her bring more professionalism and fluency in her acting in order to make her beauty stand out more even more.

다시 달릴 수 있는 용기: 그랑프리

8월 19일, 두 명의 틴리포터들이 서울 동대문 메가박스 영화관에서 열린 곧 개봉될 영화 그랑프리의 제작발표회에 동행했다.
그 영화는 드라마 아이리스의 감독으로 유명한 양윤호 감독에 의해 연출되었다.
“나와 당신, 우리 모두의 빛나는 순간을 위하여”라는 부제의 그 영화는 끔찍한 사고 이후 그랑프리를 위해 다시 한번 용기를 내어 달리는 여성 승마인에 대한 이야기이다.
김태희는 영화의 여자 주인공으로, 여성 승마인을 그리며, 양동근은 그녀에게 힘과 용기를 주어 앞으로 나아가 그랑프리를 받게 하는 조연을 맡았다.

감독과 배우들이 영화에 대해 이야기한 것:

김태희(서주희, 주인공) : "영화의 주인공을 맡기는 처음이다. 처음부터 망설임 없이 주희 역을 맡았다, 그러나 시간이 가면서 점점 영화의 여주인공의 압박을 느끼기 시작했다. 영화의 성공여부가 나의 연기에 달려있다는 것을 의미했다. 그러나 이 영화를 통해 연기에 있어서 좀더 섬세하고 독립적으로 된 것 같다. 내가 바라는 대로 결과가 좋기를 바란다.”

양동근(이우석,주희의 서포터) : "이 영화는 나에게 많은 의미가 있다. 첫 번째로, 이것은 나의 군생활 이후로 첫 번째 컴백 영화이다. 또한 이우석이라는 캐릭터는 처음에는 나의 역할이 아니었다. 다른 배우가 하기로 했었지만, 군대 문제로 내가 마지막 순간에 합류하게 됐다. 이것은 승마연습, 체중조절, 그리고 그 인물에 대한 분석을 모두 한번에 해야 했던 것을 의미했다. 나는 많은 변화를 해야 했으며 관객들이 영화를 보면서 이것을 발견하기를 바란다.”

이것은 내가 틴리포터가 된 이후 첫 번째로 맡은 임무였다.
극장 안으로 들어서는 순간 느낌이 달랐다, 왜냐하면 나는 그곳에 단지 손님으로 간 것이 아니라 기자로 갔기 때문이다.
그곳에 들어서자마자, 나는 사회자와 많은 다른 기자들을 볼 수 있었다.
사회자는 황현희라는 코메디언이었다.
그곳에는 기사를 쓰고 사진을 찍으려는 많은 사람들이 있었다.
그들은 우리를 뒤 돌아 보았다, 내 생각에는 우리가 아직 학생이었고 조금 특별했기 때문인 것 같다.
잠시 후 몇몇 기자들이 더 좋은 사진을 찍기 위한 자리 다툼을 했다.
그것은 무서웠지만 놀라웠다; 어느 직업이나 최고가 되는 것은 중요하다는 것을 배웠다.

강건희
회의는 두 명의 배우와 감독의 등장으로 시작되었다.
