Aside from being a musician and a performer, Lee founded an entertainment management agency to find new talents in the business. Despite all of his success, Lee recently revealed to the media that he has been on the downhill for the last 10 years. “Please do not exaggerate or overestimate me,” Lee said. The statement can be interpreted in two ways: He is already far too famous and does not need to embellish his career away further; or it could be that he is not a shining star anymore and he wanted to reveal his true nature.

Regardless of what his statement meant, it is hard to define Lee as a fading star. For the countless music fans in their 30s and 40s, Lee will always be a hit maker. Just ask your parents or older family members. The chances are that they have all heard Lee’s songs in their youth. Taking all these things into consideration, it is tremendously hard to agree with his statement.

Lee says he may have isolated himself with his latest album. Lee released his 10th album earlier this year, yet not many knew about it. “I think I have created music that I wanted to hear, and only the people who were my longtime fans were able to enjoy it,” said Lee. To stay away from compromising his distinct musical style, Lee is now trying to get closer with the music’s stars, fans and the industry itself. “There was a time when a young singer performed before me, and when it was my turn to step on stage, there were people walking out. I did chuckle, but it sure was embarrassing.” Lee says that the turning point in his career was when he started to tour around small theaters this past summer. By interacting with the audience, Lee was rejuvenated with energy and strength. Lee will be performing at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in southeastern Seoul from December 23 to 25. As a musician who prides himself as having the best sound and quality concerts, Lee says he is ready to put all of his passion into his upcoming concerts.
