In 1998 the American government made Family Month an official event because they recognized how important family is. Some people aren’t lucky enough to have kind and loving families, and some children can even be neglected.
More and more children are also at risk of making bad decisions like being involved in violence, crime and drugs, all of which can be prevented by strong family support. To demonstrate why solidarity in the family is important, Family Month falls in June so it is between Mothers Day, in May, and Fathers Day in June.
